This is my first year!

What excited you about judging for the Telly Awards?

I’m super excited to have the opportunity to see the work of many colleagues in the audiovisual field

What was your first job in the industry? What did it teach you?

I was a cameraman in RCTV Channel 2 in Caracas, Venezuela. There, I learned from the best TV professionals. I learned to tell stories with images and sounds.

What project are you most proud to have worked on?

The entire rebranding and programming changes on The History Channel in 2008

What’s the most challenging part about your job and/or the industry?

Remaining relevant in such competitive media as digital platforms

What do you look for to determine excellence in video?

Creativity, originality, and a lot of heart

What are your current roles and responsibilities and what do you love most about your job?

I produce, edit, launch and sustain campaigns for all Telemundo programming on social media.

What initiatives or projects are you working on now that excite you?

The most successful reality shows on Spanish-language TV

Do you have any specific practices you lean on to spark creativity?

I simply consume a lot of content and stay up to date with the latest trends.

What inspired you to pursue your career path?

I love telling stories that move people.

In your experience, what is a significant change you are seeing happen in the video, television, and/or film industry, and what insight can you share about how to navigate it?

AI is currently at its peak, but we need to take it slow and try to connect audiences more through emotion and a sense of closeness. We need to create more organic and less artificial content.
