FILM/VIDEO Requirements
- Each entry must be on separate DVD, CD-Rom, or USB flash drive (non-returnable) and have an ENTRY LABEL attached to or inside (i.e. in the DVD case) of each individual piece.
- The preferred format for media files are .mov. However, we will also accept .mpg, .avi, and .wmv. NOTE: If a digital format is not available Betacam SP or Mini DV/DVCAM will be accepted.
- We suggest you enter a 5- to 10- minute clip that is representative of the entire piece, or you may enter a full program/film or video.
ONLINE VIDEO Requirements
Video, Programs, Segments, and Promotional Pieces
- Each entry must be viewable online. You will be asked for the URL during the entry process.

- Commercial Entries must be submitted on a separate DVD, CD-Rom, or USB flash drive from Film/Video entries.
- All commercials must appear on the same reel and must be in the same sequence on the reel as they do on the playlist that serves as your ENTRY LABEL.
- Each commercial should be clearly titled to match the playlist. Campaign entries (MAXIMUM of 3 pieces per campaign) should be grouped under one title.
PEOPLE'S TELLY Requirements
- Due to the amount of entries needed to be uploaded to YouTube, People's Telly entries will be cut to three minutes.
- You may send a three minute highlight to guarantee your work will be represented properly.
- People's Telly entries will be posted to YouTube. The Telly Awards assumes all entries are original and the entrant either owns the work or has permission from a client or other appropriate party to enter the work and have it posted to our public YouTube channel, with all rights granted therein. In the event that an entrant without such rights submits an entry, the entrant will not be eligible for the competition. The Telly Awards are not liable for any copyright infringement on the part of the entrant. Submission of any entry acknowledges the right of The Telly Awards to use it for exhibition and publication in any medium. This includes, but is not limited to, our YouTube channel.
3D Requirements
- 3D entries must be stereoscopic; side-by-side, left eye first.
- Each 3D entry should be submitted as .mov format. It can be a single file or two separate (clearly marked left/right) files.
- You may send a three minute highlight to guarantee your work will be represented properly.
