What is the name of your organization and what is your area of focus in the film and video space?
ProductionHUB- we’re a global network of local crew and vendors that serves all areas of the film and video production industry. From traditional film, to commercial & broadcast, to corporate video and more- we’ve got a crew (or a gig!) for you.
What’s your organization’s origin story?
Over 24 years ago our Founder, John Pokorny, realized that there were two issues plaguing his Production Company; 1. Finding reliable and qualified crew took too much time and 2. Local advertising was exorbitantly expensive. ProductionHUB was born to solve both those problems. We provide an all-encompassing network of experienced crew and vendors for hire, plus, we’re a resource for industry professionals to market their services at affordable rates.
What is your organization’s ethos and how does it set you apart from industry competitors?
Finding the right job or crew can be stressful. We’re here to make that process easier for everyone- from crew members, to vendors, to everyone looking to hire a team for their production. We pride ourselves on having live team members available to answer your calls 5 days a week.
What projects are you most proud of and why?
One of the (many) ProductionHUB projects we are proud of is our crewing and Production Management work with We are Social for adidas Track and Field, featuring outstanding world class track athletes in a series of vignettes that were featured as a lead up to the world championships. Working with such amazing production talent both in front of and behind the camera was an exhilarating experience. We filmed on and off the track with 6 adidas sponsored athletes over the course of 3 days, utilizing a large production crew, specialty camera car equipment, and special fx. It was a fantastic opportunity that we’ll remember for a while! That’s also the great thing about ProductionHUB- we can be as involved or hands-off as you need when planning your next project.
What initiatives are you working on that you’re excited about?
We’re really excited about building new partnerships with schools to help empower and educate students. The Production industry, like so many, is built on networking. Networking can be challenging, especially when you’re new to it. That’s where ProductionHUB comes in- we’re here to help our community make connections.
What’s one part of the video and television industry you would change and why?
Breaking into the video and TV industry can be difficult, especially if you don’t have anyone to help guide you. Creating more accessible and transparent pathways for emerging crew and talent to showcase their work, and gain recognition, could lead to a more diverse and innovative industry.
