Tell us a bit about your organization and what your specialty is in the film and video space.
While my title is Sr. Digital Design and Media Production Specialist, it’s a decorative term for Video Producer at Envoy Air, an American Airlines Group company (a regional airline for American Airlines). I am in the Communications department and I do everything from pre to post production creating videos for social media, training and development, corporate messaging, etc. I also do some photography and graphic design work.
How can people join or learn more about what you do?
I’m a pretty open book so for any questions, I can be contacted through my website, I’m happy to help.
Tell us about your Telly Award winning piece. What’s the story behind it?
I received a Bronze Telly for a video I produced detailing an aircraft delivery. The airlines purchased a new aircraft and I had the opportunity to travel to the Embraer factory (the manufacturer of our airplanes) to document the process of how our airplane is built and imported into the United States before hitting the line flying our customers safely from point A to point B.
What are you most proud of about this piece? What was your biggest challenge during production and how did you solve it?
I’m a one-woman show so producing the piece myself from beginning to end was quite a challenge, but a fun one.
Do you have any advice to other filmmakers based on your career or your team’s approach to work?
Always keep learning and honing your craft.
Tell us about the most memorable response you got from this work.
I’ve had a lot of great feedback from our pilots mainly since they’re very interested in anything aircraft related. A lot of them have really just said that seeing the footage/video is really cool. We also heard a lot of good feedback when we premiered the video at our leadership conference.
