Stonegate Studios is a creative production team from Western Massachusetts that loves telling great stories through film. Our latest adventure, The Food Explorer, takes that passion on the road; mixing food, travel, and a good dose of curiosity. With Chef Bill Collins leading the way, we’re out to discover the flavors and stories that bring people together.

Tell us about your Telly Award winning piece. What’s the story behind it?
The Food Explorer’s Slider Bowl 2024 wasn’t just about food; it’s about fun, flavor, and a little friendly competition. Two Super Bowl’ inspired sliders went head-to-head, and we’re thankful viewers enjoyed it! This production earn a People’s Telly Silver for Culture & Lifestyle. It’s a perfect example of what The Food Explorer does best: bringing people together through food, stories, and a fun time!
What are you most proud of about this piece? What was your biggest challenge during production and how did you solve it?
We had a quick turn-around due to announcements of Teams playing Super Bowl and to have the award winning feature play by Super Bowl game day! This become an editing overnighter to make the deadline.
Do you have any advice to other filmmakers based on your career or your team’s approach to work?
Work with people that share your passion. It will always keep you on the right path of creating content you’ll be proud of today and into the future.
Can you share a behind the scenes story or fun fact about the making of your piece?
We enjoyed eating as much as we enjoyed filming this production!
