Tell us about your organization. How big is your team? Where are you based? What is your organization’s specialty in the film and video space?
RemoFirst is 250+ people working remotely around the world. I’m based in the United States, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. We are not filmmakers or video creators directly but work in marketing, so video content is important to us.
RemoFirst is an Employer of Record and payroll, covering 185+ countries. Compliantly employ both employees and contractors without setting up an entity.
Why do you do what you do? Was there a transformative moment that solidified your career choice, your org’s success, or your commitment to storytelling?
Being in marketing for now 10+ years, I’ve always valued content, video, and storytelling to help connect brand, services, or software with the target audience. I also think humor is a great way to be memorable and have an impact on the overall message.
So for me, it’s something I’ve always been passionate about and wanted to bring something like that to RemoFirst. As our market is crowded and tough to stand out. I felt that humorous video ads and distributing it in fun ways could really have an impact.
Tell us about your Telly Award winning piece. What’s the story behind it?
When I joined RemoFirst in 2024, I knew creating a fun video series would be perfect for our brand and to help us stand out. But wanted to wait a few months to establish some credibility with the team before the big pitch.
I already had the team in mind that was perfect to execute this overall idea (Shout out Video Brothers!) but needed to get budget approvals for this completely new brand marketing play. Fortunately, leadership could see the potential impact and was good with giving it a shot.
Together, we worked with the Video Brothers team to figure out the kind of concepts that would land with what we do and the value we provide companies.
The HR tech and compliance space can be a more serious and “dry” industry, so how can we spark some life into it and get people smiling?
We had about 15 different concept ideas, but landed on a Medieval theme video series that we dubbed “Employ Without Borders.” The overall concept from writing to finish took about 5 months to complete.
Can you share a behind the scenes story or fun fact about the making of your piece?
In the one scene, they needed to film the King throwing his massive turkey leg which was then to smack the sidekick’s face for comedic effect. They did a few takes of that scene to get it right, fortunately the actor was fantastic and totally cool about it!
What are you most proud of about this piece? What is the most memorable response you got from this work?
The general comments people at the company had and response from audiences. Everyone loved it, even those who were not in our target market would comment or share it if they saw it. That told us we made something memorable.
You won a Telly Award for this piece. Why is recognition important for you, your team or your work?
There was a lot of work involved not only from planning with the Video Brothers team on the concepts, but then executing properly on our side to ensure maximum impact and visibility with distribution of the videos.
Not only did this campaign generate our biggest quarter as a company at the time,
Tell us what you’re up to! If there’s a new project, launch, or milestone you’d like us to celebrate with you, let us know, and we might share it with our community.
We recently launched a new series this year called Global Made Simple. With our tagline: If a Girl Scout can build a global team, so can you.
We worked with the Video Brothers team again on this one.
This featured a Girl Scout building a global team for cookie sales and schooling her Mom’s date at the dinner table. We just launched this in late July, running these ads in multiple places.
