Tell us about your organization. How big is your team? Where are you based? What is your organization’s specialty in the film and video space?
We are a team of 4. Based in Clearwater, Florida. We are an outdoor, adventure, travel tv series
Why do you do what you do? Was there a transformative moment that solidified your career choice, your org’s success, or your commitment to storytelling?
I have a passion for the outdoor and the special healing it has for everyone. I thrive on adventure and love taking it outside and sharing my outdoor travels with the viewers. I have been a storyteller for over 20 years through mostly print media. About 10 years ago I had the chance to take it to the big screen and have never looked back. Being able to film and tell my outdoor adventure stories have been life changing.
Tell us about your Telly Award winning piece. What’s the story behind it?
We filmed in Costa Rica showcasing the “happiest country in the World”. The story behind the episode is to encourage people to travel, explore and take a leap of faith when it comes to having faith in themselves and the outdoors. We experienced eco tours, the pacific ocean, whales, monkeys and so much more. It is life changing.
Can you share a behind the scenes story or fun fact about the making of your piece?
Yes, we were at a place called Crocodile Bay and it is called that for good reason. We really had to be careful as a huge 10 foot Crocodile decided he wanted to make a cameo in the episode, or should I say close up. He just kept creeping up on us and we had to have someone grab the shirt of the camera guy to pull him back just in case the Croc decided to make a move.
What was your biggest challenge during production and how did you solve it?
Weather, we were filming in the rain forest and of course it rained on us during the shoot. We grabbed a huge Elephant Ear plant and used it for an umbrella.
What are you most proud of about this piece? What is the most memorable response you got from this work?
The viewers love our work and we have been told numerous times how transformative it is for people to watch that have never been and how they feel like they just took a trip of a lifetime.
You won a Telly Award for this piece. Why is recognition important for you, your team or your work?
Being somewhat new in the Industry, winning a Telly Award really lets you know that you are producing quality work, sometimes this Industry wears you down, a Telly Award gives you hope and inspiration to keep fighting the good fight.
Tell us what you’re up to! If there’s a new project, launch, or milestone you’d like us to celebrate with you, let us know, and we might share it with our community.
