Tell us about your Telly Award winning piece. What’s the story behind it?

On behalf of our client Kamehameha Schools, 6PM produced an uplifting social media campaign to capture and share SALT at Our Kakaʻako’s Lei Day Aloha experience, which featured immersive cultural experiences with live Hawaiian music, hula performances, fresh flower lei-making classes led by Hawaiian practitioners and keiki crafts. As part of the marketing campaign designed to perpetuate local culture, a 30-second highlight Reel artfully fused images, video, and original audio, delivering an impactful visual story.

What are you most proud of about this piece? What was your biggest challenge during production and how did you solve it?

The authenticity of the day’s cultural activities shines through in this video, and the original audio is also very compelling.

Do you have any advice to other filmmakers based on your career or your team’s approach to work?

Our most successful social media videos capture the essence of the message best when we combine dynamic visuals, effective copy and unique audio that meld together perfectly.

Can you share a behind the scenes story or fun fact about the making of your piece?

The making of our Lei Day Aloha highlight Reel was a pleasure, as it reflected our team’s planning, coordination, and execution of this very special experiential campaign —a day filled with Hawaiian culture, music, and dance. While the event drew hundreds of guests to the SALT at Our Kakaʻako shopping center, the online video had an extended reach of thousands.

Tell us about the most memorable response you got from this work.

Our most memorable response came from our client, who was thrilled that our agency effectively extended the visibility of this interactive cultural experience at this unique shopping center to the many online users who could not attend the event.
