Tell us a bit about your organization and what your specialty is in the film and video space.

OpenSesame is one of the world’s largest and most trusted online learning and workforce development providers, serving organizations of every size—from Global 2000 and Fortune 1000 enterprises to innovative nonprofits. We partner closely with each organization to understand its unique needs and design learning paths aligned with business goals.

With best-in-class technology, exclusive products, expert partnerships, and one of the industry’s most extensive catalogs—featuring thousands of courses in 45 languages from leading publishers such as Harvard and TED—OpenSesame combines scale with a personal touch. By tailoring solutions to each customer, we help advance both workforce capabilities and organizational success.

I joined OpenSesame in 2022 to develop, prototype, produce, and launch ICON, an original thought leadership series that has become one of our highest-rated and award-winning exclusive brands. ICON highlights thoughtful leaders with diverse perspectives, including brand founders, generals, Olympic medalists, music producers, bestselling authors, and more.

I move fluidly between roles as a booker, builder, content developer, interviewer, and creative director. With a background as a New York–based producer and creative director in advertising, marketing, and communications content, I apply a storyboarding approach that merges strategic story composition, commercial music composition, and broadcast-level visualization to craft content that delivers impact.

What I love about OpenSesame is collaborating across functions with a team that’s as innovative as it is dedicated!

Tell us about your Telly Award winning piece. What’s the story behind it?

The Truth About Bias in AI features Robin Hauser, an award-winning American documentary filmmaker, TED speaker, and renowned keynote speaker on unconscious tendencies, belonging, and critical societal challenges. Robin sheds light on the human—and therefore biased—decision-making behind data that informs artificial intelligence. Her insights highlight the importance of being conscious and aware of the biases embedded in data, reminding us that the outputs of AI are only as fair and objective as the humans who design and contribute to them, including ourselves.

What are you most proud of about this piece? What was your biggest challenge during production and how did you solve it?

Identified a Telly Award–winning production partner, blended interviewing styles, and directed multiple films in a single shoot through mutual trust.

Do you have any advice to other filmmakers based on your career or your team’s approach to work?

Great content starts with intention. Consider who you want to reach, and make sure your message feels relatable to them. Shape your story so it flows and builds impact, and don’t forget the little things—every visual and music choice helps the whole piece connect.

Can you share a behind the scenes story or fun fact about the making of your piece?

Behind every great shoot, there’s a story. Ours? A Park City heat wave, a broken AC, and a last-minute location swap that turned out better than we imagined.
