Tell us about your Telly Award winning piece. What’s the story behind it?
The Manchester Blue Devils faced devastating losses with the tragic deaths of teammates Brandon Smith and Daryus Bryant. Inspired by the story of David and Goliath, the team turned to their faith and each other to rise against overwhelming adversity.
What are you most proud of about this piece? What was your biggest challenge during production and how did you solve it?
Putting the jigsaw puzzle together was the most difficult part. But when you have people in a room that see the entire picture, it’s a lot easier.
Do you have any advice to other filmmakers based on your career or your team’s approach to work?
Follow your heart, use your head, don’t stop…
Can you share a behind the scenes story or fun fact about the making of your piece?
We were surprised at the openness and honesty of everyone in telling the story. It’s a difficult story on multiple fronts, and the trust was humbling.
