Tell us about your Telly Award winning piece. What’s the story behind it?
The World Most Experienced Broadcast Meteorologist was our way of introducing our new chief to the market. That Andrew Humphrey was the most experienced man for the job and the one you should trust when severe weather hits because he has the knowledge and experience to predict the weather and keep you safe.
What are you most proud of about this piece? What was your biggest challenge during production and how did you solve it?
Creation a commercial about someone’s experience that was tasteful and didn’t come off as a brag but rather a fun and interesting way to say this is the person you should trust during times of severe weather and here is why.
Do you have any advice to other filmmakers based on your career or your team’s approach to work?
Always be honest with your work. Focus your message on what speaks to people, what their needs are and what they care about. Never say trust us but show them why they should.
Can you share a behind the scenes story or fun fact about the making of your piece?
So this piece was inspired by super heroes. We wanted to give our Chief Met the superman treatment with the slow motion putting on the jacket, doing his regular business but in a way that was creative. Cue the dramatic lighting, the slow motion walk and his jacket is his cape. He’s the superman of weather.
