Tell us about your Telly Award winning piece. What’s the story behind it?
Anytime is an action sports documentary that delves into the world of mountain biking through authentic storytelling and breathtaking visuals. Created by Anthill Films in collaboration with Red Bull Media House, the film highlights the skill and dedication of world-class cycling athletes and the diverse environments they ride in.
What are you most proud of about this piece? What was your biggest challenge during production and how did you solve it?
The production of Anytime required navigating a wide array of environmental and logistical obstacles. From remote alpine peaks and dense forests to the urban streets of Guanajuato, Mexico, the crew faced constantly shifting weather conditions and rugged terrain. In Baños Morales, Chile, for example, limited helicopter access restricted filming to brief windows at sunrise and sunset, requiring meticulous planning to make the most of each session at altitudes as high as 15,000 feet in the Andes.
The human element of the story added another layer of complexity. During a sunrise shoot in Chile, a downhill sequence took an unexpected turn when one of the riders suffered a serious injury—a broken pelvis. This incident brought filming to a temporary halt, shifting the team’s focus to safety and care while highlighting the inherent risks of mountain biking and the unpredictable nature of documenting real-life performances.
