Tell us about your Telly Award winning piece. What’s the story behind it?
This video is a pre-orientation guide welcoming newly admitted University of North Texas students to the Mean Green family. Narrated through Scrappy and Lucky, it walks students through key steps such as activating their UNT email, completing financial aid and scholarship applications, connecting with student services, and preparing for online learning tools like Canvas and the UNT virtual community. The piece concludes by outlining the orientation week process—completing modules, meeting with an advisor, and registering for courses—ensuring students feel informed, supported, and ready to begin their academic journey.
What are you most proud of about this piece? What was your biggest challenge during production and how did you solve it?
We are most proud of how the UNT piece manages to balance warmth and clarity. By weaving in Scrappy and Lucky as guides, we made the orientation process feel approachable and engaging while still delivering a large amount of practical information. The final product doesn’t just inform—it welcomes students into the UNT community in a way that’s both high-quality and personable.
Do you have any advice to other filmmakers based on your career or your team’s approach to work?
Strong storytelling is at the heart of every project, no matter the medium. We approach each collaboration with openness and respect, trusting the expertise of our team while embracing constraints as opportunities for creativity. Above all, we stay adaptable, continually learning and refining our craft to deliver impactful work that reflects both our clients’ goals and our unique creative voice.
Can you share a behind the scenes story or fun fact about the making of your piece?
A key challenge was delivering high-quality, stylized animations within a limited budget. As our first use of character animation in a partner video, we drew on our team’s animation expertise to create a solution that was both efficient and impactful. The result was a polished piece that added creative value while staying within scope.
