Tell us about your Telly Award winning piece. What’s the story behind it?
We’re proud to have received a Silver Telly for both Day Tripping in The Palm Beaches and Fest Quest of The Palm Beaches in the General: Travel & Tourism category, as well as a Bronze Telly for Fest Quest in Series: Events & Experiences, featuring Oktoberfest of The Palm Beaches in Lake Worth Beach.
These pieces were created to showcase the vibrant culture, hidden gems, and unique events that make The Palm Beaches a standout destination. From spontaneous day trips to lively local festivals, our goal was to capture the spirit of the region through rich visuals, authentic storytelling, and a sense of fun and discovery.
What are you most proud of about this piece? What was your biggest challenge during production and how did you solve it?
We’re most proud of how both Day Tripping in The Palm Beaches and Fest Quest of The Palm Beaches authentically capture the vibrant energy and unique experiences of the region, inviting viewers to explore its culture, events, and hidden gems.
The biggest challenge was filming in dynamic, unpredictable environments, from bustling festivals like Oktoberfest to spontaneous outdoor adventures during day trips. We solved this by staying flexible, using lightweight gear, and collaborating closely with local partners to anticipate key moments, ensuring we captured the true spirit of The Palm Beaches with clarity and authenticity.
Do you have any advice to other filmmakers based on your career or your team’s approach to work?
My biggest advice to other filmmakers is to stay resourceful and focus on storytelling above all else. You don’t need a big crew or a large budget to create something impactful. Passion, creativity, and a clear point of view go a long way. Working with a small, agile team has taught us to adapt quickly, stay hands-on, and always look for the real moments that connect with viewers. Keep it personal, stay curious, and let the story guide you.
Can you share a behind the scenes story or fun fact about the making of your piece?
One fun behind-the-scenes moment happened while filming Fest Quest at Oktoberfest in Lake Worth Beach. Our entire crew is Sergio Figuera, who films, edits, and handles nearly everything. He ended up dancing with locals while juggling a camera and a pretzel. The experience was chaotic and charming, perfectly capturing the spirit of the event. Being right in the middle of the action let Sergio capture spontaneous, unforgettable moments that became some of the most memorable shots in the episode.
Tell us about the most memorable response you got from this work.
One of the most memorable responses came from small business owners and festival organizers who shared how our shows helped shine a spotlight on their events and local businesses. Many told us that after airing, they saw an increase in visitors and community engagement, which was incredibly rewarding to hear. Knowing our work made a real impact in supporting the local economy and celebrating the unique culture of The Palm Beaches is what truly motivates us.
