Tell us about your Telly Award winning piece. What’s the story behind it?

Fresh Glass Season 2 amplified unique flavors, captivating stories, and the entrepreneurial spirit of America’s tapestry. Nine episodes captured the authenticity and vulnerability of food and beverage entrepreneurs while sharing their journeys with audiences across the country.

What are you most proud of about this piece? What was your biggest challenge during production and how did you solve it?

I am most proud of staying true to the mission and making sure representation was focal during this project. The depiction of people of color in mainstream media is not the most flattering. Instead, we shed a light on the trails, triumphs, and celebration of their success. The biggest challenge during production was budget. We solved it by garnering the support of entities like Visit California and others who championed both food and beverage, and amplifying underrepresented voices.

Do you have any advice to other filmmakers based on your career or your team’s approach to work?

Plan, execute, and meditate throughout.

Can you share a behind the scenes story or fun fact about the making of your piece?

A majority of the scenes filmed involved a libations. The tequila tasting is particular turned out to be a doozy, and resulted in the host taking a healthy amount of shots while trying to interview guests…It made for great commentary, and behind the scenes footage.
