I’m a creative director, a speaker, a professor, a mentor, and a coach. I believe in sharing experiences with the purpose of helping younger generations thrive, and along the way, take our advertising industry to the next level.
I’ve conducted talks and workshops at The Cannes Lions Advertising Festival, The 4A’s, The Creative Ladder, Effie Collegiate, ANA (Educational Foundation), Miami Ad School, VCU Brandcenter, and a few ad agencies and brands around the globe.
I’m also the Co-founder of Imper/Active, a marketing agency focused to helping brands and communities, in their efforts to support noble causes.
My love for advertising only compares with my devotion to football (soccer in the US), coffee and street art.
How many years have you been a judge?
10+ years
What was your first job in the industry? What did it teach you?
Print Production at BBDO in Buenos Aires. Since I’m from the BC (Before Computers) era, I learned the importance of type kerning (manually), and became a pro maneuvering X-Acto knives and glue. Still use them today.
What’s the most challenging part about your job and/or the industry?
I wish we (our industry) could slow down a bit and think. It seems like we are in a rush to create/deliver crap.
What do you look for to determine excellence in video?
Simple, focused, entertaining, interesting. And goes without saying: has to have a concept.
How do you unwind from work mode?
You can always find me at a coffee shop, reading, doodling or just plain watching people pass by.
What are your current roles and responsibilities and what do you love most about your job?
I have a dual role. As the Creative lead, I absolutely love to solve marketing problems. As a speaker, I treasure my conversations with the younger generation of marketing people.
What initiatives or projects are you working on now that excite you?
Right now, I’m working on the positioning and marketing campaign for a clothing brand.
