Enrico began his career in 2001 and has held various roles, including director, motion designer, VFX artist, and concept artist for feature films, TV episodic, digital, and broadcast. His credits include Harry Potter, The Dark Knight, Spider-Man, Men in Black, and he has also directed idents for MTV and Sony.

In his spare time, Enrico enjoys creating experimental videos, exploring technology, motion control, macro photography, old lenses, CT scans, and CGI.

His personal and commercial projects have won awards and been featured in publications such as Shots, Televisual, IdN Magazine, and Computer Arts.

How many years have you been a judge?

1-3 years

What was your first job in the industry? What did it teach you?

When I was 17 years old, I was a video assist on set for a feature film. It was my first job, and I had never worked in any other industry. Being a member of a crew was exciting, and I learned that there is a defined hierarchical structure on set.

What project are you most proud to have worked on?

My experimental movie Amniotica. I worked with CT scans of my daughter during pregnancy. That was definitely a special project.

What’s the most challenging part about your job and/or the industry?

It can demand working for long hours.

What do you look for to determine excellence in video?

Creative and technical execution that serves a story.

How do you unwind from work mode?

I get out and spend time with my family

What are your current roles and responsibilities and what do you love most about your job?

Overseeing VFX shots for films and TV episodic shows. I love being part of the whole process from concept to delivery and working with other people.

What initiatives or projects are you working on now that excite you?

My personal projects excite me as I use them as a way to explore new techniques in a safe environment.
