What excited you about judging for the Telly Awards?

The strength of the community and the respect the Telly award provides in the accolade space.

What was your first job in the industry? What did it teach you?

My first job was a camera, assistant and motion, graphic designer. They both taught me patience.

What project are you most proud to have worked on?

The opportunity to work with Prince on an amazing promotional piece and then stream it through servers of his that I hosted in my studio for 7 years.

What’s the most challenging part about your job and/or the industry?

Educating oneself on the evolution of technology and at the same time tell a story for a company, artist and or culture.

What do you look for to determine excellence in video?

The idea, the writing and the execution to make the project come to fruition.

What are your current roles and responsibilities and what do you love most about your job?

Senior editor and what I love about my job the most is the ability to tell a story and convey a message.

What initiatives or projects are you working on now that excite you?

I’m currently working on a project that is telling the story of Native Americans and the future of their food. Moreover, what are the solutions.

Do you have any specific practices you lean on to spark creativity?

Many times not taking out a camera or a laptop and go into an environment or a culture and observe. Those moments alone, enhance my skill set and my creativity.

What inspired you to pursue your career path?

I was inspired by movies that told a story and allowed me to become more educated with regards to social identity and culture

In your experience, what is a significant change you are seeing happen in the video, television, and/or film industry, and what insight can you share about how to navigate it?

You no longer need to go to Hollywood to create an amazing film.
