What excited you about judging for the Telly Awards?

I love judging the Telly Awards because I get to see fresh ideas and amazing work year after year. Hard work, great creative and excellent execution gets me excited.

What was your first job in the industry? What did it teach you?

My first real job in the industry was as a radio announcer. It taught me independence, self-reliance and the skills to perform as a professional live and without a safety net.

What project are you most proud to have worked on?

The project I am most proud of was helping create 20 documentaries for the Air Zoo (aerospace and science museum).

What’s the most challenging part about your job and/or the industry?

The most challenging part of my job is balancing multiple moving logistics while trying trying keep the creative vision in check.

What do you look for to determine excellence in video?

I love to see a simple story told well. If you can make me feel your brand, we have a winner.

What are your current roles and responsibilities and what do you love most about your job?

In addition to creating video strategy with my clients and I also produce a number of projects throughout the year. I love seeing a challenge and turning it into a solution.

What initiatives or projects are you working on now that excite you?

We have just finished a couple of documentaries and are wrapping up some animation projects.

Do you have any specific practices you lean on to spark creativity?

Inspiration comes from viewing other people’s work, asking questions and attempting the impossible.

What inspired you to pursue your career path?

The magic of a shared communal experience inside of a dark theater.

In your experience, what is a significant change you are seeing happen in the video, television, and/or film industry, and what insight can you share about how to navigate it?

A.I. is both a blessing and a curse. We need not over-feed it.
