Tell us about your Telly Award winning piece. What’s the story behind it?

The Wuyi Mountains Our National Park” uses stunning cinematography to showcase one of China’s five national parks—the Wuyi Mountains National Park—its breathtaking natural scenery, rare wildlife, and stories of harmony between people and nature. This is the birthplace of black tea. Centuries ago, Wuyi black tea crossed the oceans and changed the British tradition of afternoon tea. The pristine environment has nurtured world-class tea, while the locals’ way of making tea in tune with nature reflects their deep affection for the land.

What are you most proud of about this piece? What was your biggest challenge during production and how did you solve it?

One of the most memorable experiences was filming orchids. We were fortunate to follow local orchid experts and capture many unique species. The greatest challenge, however, was the number of snakes in the area. By rustling the grass ahead of us, we made sure to avoid being bitten during filming.

Our director and crew were all young people. At 2 a.m., we drove up a pitch-dark mountain road to reach the summit for a sunrise shoot. With sheer cliffs at our side, the journey was tough, but when we finally arrived and saw the Milky Way for the first time, the excitement was beyond words—a moment that revealed both the wonder of nature and the beauty of the universe.
