Tell us about your Telly Award winning piece. What’s the story behind it?

Write On is a comedy following Professor Alyssa Ryder, a down on her luck creative writing teacher. On her first night instructing an adult creative writing class she hakes her insecurities by helping her students bring their stories to life, showing them and herself. As the students present their stories, they begin to come to life on the screen and the film takes the audience on a fun, genre-bending cinematic experience. In the end though, the film is a love letter to the storyteller in all of us, pushing past insecurities and creative walls to “write on.”

What are you most proud of about this piece? What was your biggest challenge during production and how did you solve it?

We are proud of the quality of the film and some of the locations that we were able to book. The story calls for multiple locations and costumes, so pulling that off seamlessly made us proud.

Do you have any advice to other filmmakers based on your career or your team’s approach to work?

Have a solid plan on not just creating the film but what you would like to achieve with it.

Can you share a behind the scenes story or fun fact about the making of your piece?

Fun Fact; We shot our western scene at an Spindletop Boomtown Museum which is an authentic early 20th century Oil boomtown.
