Greg Ciaccio, VP Post Production Original Content and Image Capture at IMAX, leads the Original Content team for IMAX Original Films as well as all projects shot on IMAX film. In addition, he supports Filmed for IMAX pictures, Alternative/Live Content and IMAX Enhanced business units.
Greg has served in executive operations management positions for Creative Service divisions at Technicolor, Deluxe, Ascent and Sim and has helped introduce leading-edge products including Technicolor’s DP Lights and Deluxe’s Mobilabs near-set dailies solutions.
Ciaccio is an ASC Associate and serves as Chair of the ASC Motion Imaging Technology Council’s Workflow Committee, which includes the Image Data Management Subcommittee. He has served on the Board of Managers for SMPTE Hollywood and is a founding member of SMPTE RIS’ On Set Virtual Production group.

What was your first job in the industry? What did it teach you?
Set PA for Pee Wee’s Playhouse, moved to Additional 2nd AD 2 months in. Taught me the importance of attention to detail and follow-through.
What project are you most proud to have worked on?
Oppenheimer.
What’s the most challenging part about your job and/or the industry?
Keeping up with hundreds of emails a day.
What do you look for to determine excellence in video?
Though-provoking, novel, exciting- depends on the genre. But always high quality.
What are your current roles and responsibilities and what do you love most about your job?
I lead the Original Content team for IMAX Original Films as well as all projects shot on IMAX film. I support the Filmed for IMAX program, Alternative/Live Content and IMAX Enhanced business units.

What inspired you to pursue your career path?
The many films I’ve seen in my teens and twenties.
In your experience, what is a significant change you are seeing happen in the video, television, and/or film industry, and what insight can you share about how to navigate it?
AI- that it should always be used as a tool by an artist, not replacing artists.
