Tell us a bit about your organization and what your specialty is in the film and video space.
Plot is a Toronto-based creative production company built to close the gap between strategy, creative, and execution. Founded by Rahul Madan, Maxim Vlassenko, and Eric Richards, we move fluidly from concept to delivery – combining the agility of a boutique studio with the depth of a full-service production company.
We partner with both brands and agencies, offering a flexible model that adapts to each project’s needs – whether that means leading a campaign end-to-end or embedding seamlessly within an existing team. Our specialty lies in storytelling that bridges cultural insight and craft, producing work that feels thoughtful, relevant, and distinctive.
What is your organization’s ethos and how does it set you apart from industry competitors?
At Plot, we lead with collaboration, curiosity, and care.
We believe great creative happens when strategy, production, and execution work as one – not in silos. Our process is intentionally hands-on and collaborative: sometimes we’re brought in by agencies to elevate an idea through execution; other times, we work directly with brands from concept to delivery.
That flexibility allows us to stay nimble and intentional, building relationships that feel less like vendor partnerships and more like creative extensions of the teams we work with.

Tell us about your Telly Award winning piece. What’s the story behind it?
Plot partnered with Saje Natural Wellness to create a campaign for Dermedial Carrot+, rooted in the message: “Brave nature with nature.” Highlighting nature’s dual power as both an aggressor and a healer, the campaign showcased how natural ingredients can help restore and protect the skin.
Our winning piece acted as the campaign teaser, using a block of ice slowly melting away to reveal the product within. The visual metaphor introduced the idea of elemental tension and transformation – setting the tone for the broader campaign and inviting viewers into the story through sound, texture, and pacing.
Can you share a behind the scenes story or fun fact about the making of your piece?
The piece was a collaborative experiment with the Saje creative team and production designer, Jess Anderson. We shot the sequence in a side station during the main Dermedial Carrot+ campaign, so we had to get creative with space and time. To achieve the time-lapse effect, we kept rolling continuously, finding moments to step in with heat guns to shape and guide the melting process in real time – with Eric Richards refining the pacing in post. It was a hands-on, improvised process that reflected our commitment to craft and collaboration.
