Born in Asheville, North Carolina, but raised in Marion, NC, Kelly graduated from McDowell High School in 1996. Early on in his career, Kelly worked in photography as a photographer's assistant. This started the relationship he has with the film industry. The bug really bit after working as a extra on Dawson's Creek for several years in Wilmington.
As a former Assistant to Gubernatorial Appointments for the Gilmore Administration in the State of Virginia, Kelly developed a keen eye for detail and quality; a trait that he has brought with him to his role as a television producer. With widespread experience in lighting, casting, post-production, and directing, Kelly has been selected over and over again to work on high profile projects including his role as a Production Manager for a pilot television program for the BBC as well as his role as Producer of the 2005 North Carolina Inaugural Gala for which he was a Telly® Award recipient. Kelly is also the recent recipient of two more Telly® Awards, Silver in Travel and Tourism and Bronze for History and Biography, for his role as co-producer and director for Inside Americas Executive Mansions.
