My first job in TV was as an intern at Precept Ministries in Chattanooga, TN a few months after I graduated high school in 1982. I then went to Liberty University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. degree in Television Production in 1987. Within 2 weeks of graduation, I attended an intensive training course in Santa Clara, CA for the CMX3400 video editing system and took a job as video editor at the Liberty Broadcasting Network where I edited the weekly broadcast of Jerry Falwell's "Old Time Gospel Hour" which was syndicated on over 200 TV stations across the US and Canada.
In 1989, I moved to Tampa, FL where I became an editor at F&F Productions/Diamond P Sports. There I had the chance to edit various motorsports and other sports programs that aired on stations such as The Nashville Network, Sunshine Network, ESPN, and CBS. In 1993, I took an editor job at The Family Channel in Virginia Beach and in 1995, I took a year off to become the director of media ministries at First Baptist Church of Norfolk, VA. In 1996 I returned to the Family Channel as the Post Production Supervisor overseeing 3 online edit suites, 2 offline edit suites, 3 audio post suites, and a staff of 16. In 1998, the Family Channel was sold to Fox and I relocated to Atlanta where I became senior editor at CNN Post. Here I edited weekly prime-time shows, specials, high-end image spots and other on-air promotions for CNN and it's related networks. A year later, I was offered the position of Director of Electronic Media for the North American Mission Board in Alpharetta, GA. There, I built a staff of 4 producers, 3 editors, 2 production assistants, an engineer, and my assistant. We created video resources used by Southern Baptist churches all over the US and Canada. Our staff won over 25 Telly Awards in a 5 year period, including several Silver Tellys for promotional, training and documentary video projects.
In the Fall of 2005, I left the North American Mission Board to start my own company, EyeOn Creative Media Group. EyeOn Creative is a full-service video production company in Northeast Atlanta doing location production, scriptwriting, video editing, DVD authoring, web streaming and more for clients all over the US and Canada. Our clients include the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Group Publishing, LifeWay Church Resources, Samaritan's Purse, North American Mission Board, International Mission Board, Corporate Chaplains of America, WinShape Foundation, and several state Baptist conventions. Since founding EyeOn Creative Media Group over 3 years ago, we have been privileged to have won 1 silver and 4 bronze Tellys for our work.
